The weekend of May 15 finds me with an over-committed social calendar (yeah me :)
After much careful thought and a pro and con list, I can't decide what to do, so an LJ poll seems in order. The options are yoga or surfing.

Yoga- Beginning Friday evening and continuing through Sunday Lunch, this Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Healing Retreat is co-sponsored by Gurucharan Khalsa, PhD from InnerWorks Wellness Center (Claremont) and Gisela Powell from The Awareness Center. It is designed to re-create, for a brief weekend, the ashram living experience. We will weave together yoga and meditation, yogic diet and lifestyle experiences in a beautiful natural setting, in the mountains near Lake Ellsinore, 1hr. 45 min. from the Pasadena area. You will have the opportunity to learn about Bioenergetics and experience a Sacred Breathing Circle, a unique adventure into your highest consciousness, which combines Kundalini Yoga with the “Healing Breath”. There will be time to relax in the hot tub, sun yourself in the swinging chairs, enjoy the unique natural buildings of Pine Manor.....

Surfing:
The Alumni Assoc. and the Surf Club are co-sponsoring this free (as in beer) day trip to San Onofre. All rentals, food and associated fees will be paid for by someone other than you. Good friends, good waves and free food--it doesn't get much better than that. We will meet at 7am at Caltech on May 15. Participants will be responsible for driving their own cars, and we will help coordinate carpooling for those who need rides. The club will provide surfboards and wetsuits, but participants with their own gear are strongly encouraged to bring it....

The thing about the yoga is that I find it very difficult to go to these retreat thingys by myself. However, it seems to be the path of my spiritual self right at the moment. The yoga is difficult but makes me feel happier. I would meet a bunch of new people who are from completely different walks of life from myself and I would get the hell out of dodge for 3 days.

The thing about the surfing is that I think I'm the club president-in-training, so it's good for me to be seen at the events. However, the larger events are less fun because you end up having to babysit the people who are afraid to be spontaneous. Still, the core group of fun people will all be there and given that it's an alumni trip, it might be a more fun crowd than the students typically are.

There's the info. You decide:
