getting the lead out
Jan. 10th, 2011 12:36 pmI couldn't sleep last night. The baby woke up crying. I dutifully trotted up stairs and found the pacifier that was stuck between the wall and the crib and popped it back into her mouth. That's usually enough to wake me up to the point where I can't get back to sleep. Some times when I am alone like that at 2am, I start googling people from my long ago past to see what the internet has to say about them. Nothing creepy, here, folks, just wondering if they pop'd up in the news or put up a public website. Last night it was my friend Jennifer from law school. Her husband is an investment banker and it looks like just this last year they bought a 3.3 million dollar house in an exclusive town outside of San Francisco. And Jennifer ran in the half-marathon part of the San Francisco marathon. And there was a picture of her at some fundraiser some where on flikr. She looks great. You might think that I'm jealous but I'm really not. I'm ok with my life. Today, I ran my lunch time 2 miles. I went about 20 yards further today than I did last week. It was a frigid 38 degrees outside (3 C). I've lost 50lbs since DG was born. I've got another 17 to go.
