weird morning
Feb. 17th, 2011 01:43 pmWe've had problems on our computing clusters with users not using decent passwords or using ssh keys without a passphrase. The boss thought we should try including a security talk with all of our training workshops. This morning was the first of these talks. I had to drive over to another university to give it. I think it went well. I got people to laugh while I harangued them about choosing quality passwords.
I left that talk and went directly to a funeral at a catholic church. It was for the mother of a close co-worker. I'm still reeling from the context shift. Going from trying to be a dynamic and engaging speaker to being a pious and reflective mourner really knocked me sideways.
