I get cranky when I fly. I try not to and for the most part I think I succeed in not being a total bitch. Mostly I say nothing. The leap to gracious is so far beyond me, it's not worth considering. My flights tonight weren't bad. I bounced in cincinnati, which is quite a nice little airport, then from there to lax. I had the aisle and a young woman, heidi, who works in a lab at caltech had the window. For some reason on this flight, everyone decided to shuffle seats on the plane and we ended up with some guy sitting between us. I'm positive he picked our empty seat because he wanted to hit on heidi. Now, I don't ask much on flights. I take my dramamine and my anti-histamines and I sleep. That's it. This bozo must have woken me up a god-damned dozen times, thrashing around in his bag under the seat and having to go to the bathroom because of all the beer he was drinking. The joy. But I'm here now, ready to curl up in my old futon with the pink flower bedspread.
