I ran 2 miles. I know it's not all that, but I still hauled my a** out into the somewhat frigid weather on my lunch hour and ran.

I usually don't ever make New Year's resolutions, but one I'm going to try to stick to is to exercise more including increasing my running time.

I doubt I could have run two miles just yet, congratulations!

Interesting. I always make new year's resolutions. There's just always something about my life that I think needs improving. I will go on about this at some point. That need to improve things is really my lack of ability to just be satisfied with things more than anything else.

On the exercise, though, I actually started back in August or so. My goal is just to be more consistent and try to get a good habit in place. And to run the fat boy 5k in March. It's a big local event known for its post race cuisine: Doughnuts, Chocolate Milk, Beer and Cokes. My problem is every time the baby gets sick, I get totally derailed from my routine. Little babies in day care get sick all the time. And you get sick all the time right along with them. DG has been in day care more than a year and is getting sick less often now, so I think I have some chance of success.

For you, I can see the challenge. Your jobs and hours change so dramatically from one job to the next, I think it would be next to impossible to get a regular routine going. I think you would almost have to build in some isometric stuff to do while you are stuck in the truck. You know, bust out your thigh master while you are in between takes.

Oh I'd be quite the hit if I were to bring along a thigh master onto the show I'm working on. But the visual, it just might be worth it, heh.

I used to run 5K races all the time, I find a good comfort in runs about that length. I've done a few 10K races as well over the years, but that last few miles seem to really kill me, or maybe it's the choices in 10K races I've run which all seem to have an uphill segment right before you reach the finish line.

Perhaps I should begin to make New Years Resolutions, I suppose if I were to actually put them down on paper I would be more inclined to be able to stick to any I would initiate. One thing I do plan on doing, which I doubt will be too hard to accomplish, is to set away 10% of each and every check I receive and invest more in retirement. I tried it for a few months during the summer of last year, and it was surprisingly easy for me to do. Maybe it's the fact that as a freelancer, my income for each month jumps all over the planet and that makes it a little easier to stuff some of it away before I even see it.
