surf journal
Oct. 25th, 2003 05:48 pmThis is a back dated entry. I didn't make it the day of because as soon as I got home I had to hit the road for san diego.
The cit surf club had an outing today. It was a lesson for the beginners. I took Elle out for her virgin run. She is a little hard to paddle. She is such a light board that I work harder moving her through the water. We went to Mondo's break in ventura. It's a small, private beginners beach. When we got there it was high tide, so we dinked around waiting for the tide to go out. The waves picked up some on the north end near the reef, but otherwise the surf wasn't much to speak of. My knee let me get up a couple of times, but on the third time, it twisted a bit. There were also the other 3 or 4 times when I was about to get up but had some space cadet sitting right in my way. I took it as a sign from the universe that I should knock off and headed back in. The vegan oatmeal-chocolate cookies I baked were a hit. Yeah! And much fun was had by all. Pictures will follow in a week.
