Well, Baton Rouge just took it's worst hurricane hit in modern history. The emergency crews were expecting New Orleans to be the big problem. Instead it was BR. It's good that they are getting services back up in NOLA. A lot of folks there are too poor to be properly prepared. Still, they are predicting that half of BR will have power in a week but the other half will take 3-4 weeks. My neighborhood was hit particularly hard. Our house is ok, but if you just walk around the block there are downed trees and power lines every where. It may be a long haul before we have power back. Right now, I'm spending an hour at LSU getting a little bandwidth. At home, we have gas and water but no electricity, no telephone and no cable modem. Also no work all this week. Woohoo for that!

Glad you made it through okay; here's hoping that they get things back up and working in short order.

I was so glad to hear that you dodged the bullet with Gustav barreling straight towards you, I suppose the inconvenience of not having electricity is minor as compared to what might have happened.
