Sometimes I really miss the obvious until it is in my face. Here's a good one. I never realized that babies in utero move all the time. I didn't realize that until my 12 week ultra sound when the little baby was doing somersaults in the video. I used to think that they started that kicking thing when they got big enough to kick. Instead, it's that you start to feel it when they get big enough. The first time I felt her kick was Feb. 17. Also, that whole "kicking" thing -- I can't actually tell what body part is doing the work. J thinks he can now. "Ah, that was an elbow." I'm like, uh, yeah whatever.

One night last week I was sprawled on the couch not really watching the moving pictures on the TV. My line of sight was right over the now hard-to get-out-of-the-way belly when I started to see her kick. It's cool but also kind of freaky.

*laugs* Great, isn't it? I can't see them yet but I definitely feel them, like they're trying to tell me "Mom, sit up straight, I can't move properly". Baby's gym is what we are - or at least what it feels like sometimes ;-)

I'm sure they've got that whole sibling rivalry going on already, too! "My turn. No my turn!"
