All of the babies in Deege's class at daycare plus the babies from my birth class all have birthdays in July. This coincided with a trip to see the in-laws for the 4th. JG's parents are the sweetest, nicest people. But it is gawd awfully boring to visit their house. I always take a sewing project. Voila! 10 monsters for 10 little babies turning 1.

Ooh what wonderful dreams those babies will have with THOSE monsters looking over them while they sleep.

And I love your monster collection, they remind me of the little "Nagahas" I had when I was a kid.

I'm not convinced one of these little guys can make a baby's dreams any weirder than looking at life does.

The reception on the monsters was really split. Amongst the birth group moms, they are like "those are so cute!" But a couple of the moms at day care are your quintessential sorority girl types. With them I get a polite smile and nod as they hurry away so they don't have to speak to me. I am now the weird mom at school. My poor kid!

It's their loss for not appreciating the monsters for what they are. I think any baby would love to look up and see such colorful and imaginative faces peering down on them, and it sure beats staring up at some "childhood approved" fisher-price mobiles.

I think of you every time I think how tired I am dealing with one baby. Twins! How do you manage?

Better than I thought but then I have the support from my parents who come 2-3 days a week to help me with the kids & chores. I do miss work a bit and am spending about 10 minutes in front of the computer now instead of 10 hours a day, which might not be a bad thing altogether come to think of it ;-)

Oooh, and I found some of my old friends from Baton Rouge again via FaceBook, can't tell you how excited I am/was!
